Hey there Guys,
Not sure if you have seen the news but just this week search engine king Google has launched a fantastic campaign “legalize love” to support and care for its gay and lesbian employees.
By supporting their staff, “Googlers”, Google seeks to ensure that the very gay friendly workspace continues when their gay staff members “Gayglers” head home. With offices in more than 70 places in the world, not every country has the same care and love for Gayglers as Google does.
Google has a long history of support for Pride celebrations around the world. In 2011, over one thousand Googlers participated in Pride celebrations in a dozen cities to support equality. To date in 2012, more than 1,500 Googlers have marched in Pride celebrations, including Boston, Chicago, New York, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Tel Aviv and Warsaw. However, it’s not just through Pride that we show our support for the LGBT community. At Mardi Gras in Sydney, we hosted two Queer Thinking seminars on Activism in the Internet Age and Queer Careers.
And in July Gayglers from over a dozen counties celebrated at World Pride in London where they were joined by one million visitors from around the world.
Can you imagine if your workplace supported you the way Gayglers are supported?
Can you imagine what it would be like to have a workplace that stood up for gay and lesbian rights in the community where you lived?
This is a place where I would love to work. Google, looking for an Australian doctor?
Yours in good health, with love and respect to Google and all the Gayglers worldwide.
