Today a good mate shared this fantastic video talking about the use of the term “that’s so gay”. I have to say I freaking love listening to Ash Beckham. Her enthusiam and humor is amazing.
That’s So Gay?
My absolute favorite quotes from this talk has to be these two:
“You can legislate tolerance [but] you can’t legislate acceptance.”
“Say what you mean and mean what you say. The words that you choose matter.”
So if you hear someone at your work, on your bus or in the table next to you say “oh that’s so gay”. What are you going to do, your best Gary Coleman? Or are you going to be the person that can ignite the change?
